Waking Hours - rapids

Caught under rapids
Drowning and I
See a light shining
I trust I might be fine

I let the water cradle me
And carry be down stream
And my eyes
Have emptied of their fear

Under the rapids
I start to feel calm
The light is shining
But should I go on?

Getting pulled further into
The chaos and the tide
Oh, can't I just stay down here?

The waves wont get much deeper
The light wont get much dimmer
I know I'm a good swimmer
And it's starting to feel warm down here

Would I be able
To get my head above water?
Or am I stripping
My mother of a daughter?

The water starts to pull me down
To rocks right towards the bottom
And my lungs
Have emptied of their air

Now its getting deeper
The light is growing dimmer
I've got to be a better swimmer
And it's starting to feel cold out here
