Homebound - Change of Heart

I've been thinking that I wasn't ever ready for this, Another mistake that I can add to the ever-growing list. But I can't help this feeling.

Never knowing,
But I'm still hoping,
I know you pray for a change of heart,
But I keep going.
But I can't help this feeling.

When there's a will then there's a way,
Try again, come back another day,
Twenty two and nothing new to show for it.
I'm out of depth, I'm in too deep,
Swallow my words, time to admit defeat,
Forcing what I always knew would never fit.

A conversation is long overdue,
This might mean nothing to you,
Just once for crying out loud,
Please can you hear me out?
I tried and tried to make things right,
So forgive me if I can't forget this overnight.

Never knowing,
But I'm still hoping.
As I keep my faith in a shot in the dark,
You watch my life quickly fall apart.

Pulled at the strings now watch me come undone,
Try persevere and overcome the fear I had,
This year instead I'll never quit.
