Heathanz Sinz - Now and Then (feat. Russell Rayborn)

I remember being young, just a little boy
Couldn't wait to grow up, put away my toys
Felt strong enough to take the world on
Air Guitar in my bedroom, to my favorite songs
My dream was to be a super rock star
Travel the world to the lands a far
Playing live for thousands of screaming fans
Then sleeping on the beaches made of crystal white sand

But I had to get a job, gotta pay my bills
Can't afford to buy beer, gotta buy my pills
Have to get up in the dark and early morn
And this guy behind me, is blowing his fucking horn
Yesterday is gone and done, just another show
Put on a happy face, no one needs to know
I'm about to bust a nerve and you're on my case
Just get on with your shit, there's no time to waste

I bought a guitar with my paper route money
And I started to jam, but it always sounds funny
I wanted to be like Motley Crue
So I practiced hard and I followed through
I formed a band with a bunch of guys
And I wrote some songs, much to my surprise
Cause I thought one day I would be a big star
But we crashed and burn and I didn't go far

Then I had to get a job, gotta pay my bills
Can't afford to buy beer, gotta buy my pills
Have to get up in the dark and early morn
And this guy behind me, is blowing his fucking horn
Yesterday is gone and done, just another show
Put on a happy face, no one needs to know
I'm about to bust a nerve and you're on my case
Just get on with your shit, there's no time to waste

Years go by and I gave up the dream
Isn't it funny how life seems to drown your screams
Then I had a kid and she loves to rock
Then I knew it was time I had to walk the walk
So I picked up a guitar and I started to play
My old hands didn't know exactly what to say
So I let them go so they could do their thing
My poor old fingers hurt and started to sting

But my daughter laughed and she put on a smile
And I started to understand all the while
The look on her face, made me realize
I already was a rock star, in her eyes
Isn't it funny how life turns around
I traded my dreams and I gave up the sound
But my life is perfect even though I'm not a star
Yet my daughter thinks so, when we sing in the car
