Part-Time Poet - Come Back Home

I'm getting ready for the drive back home
It's a shame this vacation had to end
My car and I have many roads to roam
I can't request to play pretend
But you play your games, I'm the only one to lose
She said the San Diego sunrise erased her Alabama blues
Say you won't and I'll call you on your lies, come back home
Say you will and I'll fall for you once again, come back home
Don't let the Pacific promise carry you away
The waves will crash and fade to sand
Those rainless days that never turn to gray
Will turn if you don't hold my hand
But you play your games, I'm the only one to lose
She said the Tallahassee nightlife made it easier to choose
Say you won't and I'll call you on your lies, come back home
Say you will and I'll fall for you once again, come back home
I cannot tell you the things I'd like to say
Leaving you was harder than you know
I didn't leave in spite, honestly you're right
I wish that I could come back home
But you play your games, I'm the only one to lose
She said the New York City skyline was better than southern country views
Say you won't and I'll call you on your lies, come back home
Say you will and I'll fall for you once again, come back home
I'm getting ready for when you say no
It'll take the breath right out of me
My words will float on an endless sea of hope
That you, my love, will come back home
