Songs of the Pumpkin Boy - Many Fingers

On a dreary evening, clinging to my cloak
I was briskly walking down cemetery road
Toward the shadowy graveyard, glancing through the mist
I noticed something lurking just off in the distance
So I thought to myself, I will not lose my nerve
I will not be ambushed, and then I quickly swerved
Off the moonlit pathway, sneaking through some trees
I came upon the creature with my rapier unsheathed

Seeing is believing, but I still could not believe
The thing I saw before me, writhing in the fallen leaves
A body so misshapen, it brought tears to my eyes
It could almost pass for human, but then again not quite
A thousand moving fingers were covering this being
To get a closer look, I knelt down on one knee
Suddenly, it faced me, and it began to speak
I've grown too many fingers, you have to help me, please!

You'll have to cut them off
Don't you see?
You'll have to cut them all
They're killing me
You'll have to cut them off
Just do it, please
You have to cut them all
To set me free
