One Man War Band - Conquerors

Temüjin amasses the tribes
A fearsome force, under
Banners of Genghis
Northern Chinese
Lands are trampled
Under hoof of the Mongols

As ranks of cavalry swell
Persia fell as well
And the reins of the fledgling
Empire pass to the
Third born son of the
Late great Khan

Ambitions bloom with time
And flood down the bloodline
Achieved with murderous design
...Conquerors!

Yeah

And with the tributaries paid
A great white city was raised
And from Karakorum
Ögedai Khan
Unleashed his generals
On Russia and Europe

Expansion far and wide
With sword and bow combined
Ruled by nomadic tribes
Conquerors
Ambitions bloom with time
And flood down the bloodline
Achieved with murderous design
Conquerors

As the Golden Horde pushes boundaries
Unstoppable merciless war machine
Mongol princes are enlightened
By the greatest general, Subutai
A fresh generation of warriors
Are forged under his wizened eyes
Conquers all foe before them
Before the hoard's recalled to the

Kurultai
The Khan is dead, now who shall lead-?
Törogene Khatun
Who paved the way
For her son to take the throne one day
A brief reign succeeded by the
House of Tolui

Ambitions fade in time
Internal works realign
Until the state stands poised again

Möngke Khan reignites the desire
To bathe the whole world in the fire
Of a Mongol empire
Dispatching his kin
To wreak havoc in lands in his name

Go!

New khanates are carved
And grand armies are marched
Back to the Middle East
To Southern China
Where trails of destruction
Blaze through Anatolia

Many fronts of war contrived
Nations quelled and then revived
Brought to heel by fear sublime
Conquerors
Expansion far and wide
With sword and bow combined
Ruled by nomadic tribes
Conquerors
Ambitions bloom with time
And flood down the bloodline
Achieved with murderous design
Conquerors

Genghis and his descendants traveled far
And imposed war, brought death, and wrought destruction
Creating the largest contiguous empire
The world has ever seen
Bringing more than a quarter of the Earth's population
Under Mongol rule

Their wrath spread from Western Xia
Siberia, the Jin Dynasty, Central Asia, and Persia
To Georgia, the Cumans, India, Rus
Then Poland, Bohemia, Hungary, Austria
Reaching as far as Northeast Italy

And many more were impacted by their spread
Croatia, Serbia, Bulgaria, Tibet
Anatolia, The Dali Kingdom, Syria, Yunnan
The Nizaris, Vietnam, Baghdad, Lithuania
Japan, Myanmar, Java, And Gilan...

Shattering
As civil war fractures the whole
Disunity spreading
As power-hungry men
Vie for status and contend
Among them all reigns true
Kublai Khan

Descendants heed the call
And the dreams of old prevail
Put a foot to the throat of the whole wide world
Conquerors

Many fronts of war contrived
Nations quelled and then revived
Brough to heel by fear sublime
Conquerors
Expansion far and wide
With sword and bow combined
Ruled by nomadic tribes
Conquerors
Ambitions bloom with time
And flood down the bloodline
Achieved with murderous design
Conquerors

And though the Mongol Empire splintered, as all Empires must
There was forged a legacy that would endure forevermore
Evoked by one
And realised by his subsequent generations
All of them, conquerors

CONQUERORS
CONQUERORS
CONQUERORS
CONQUERORS
