Woke up this morning, got out of bed, said a prayer
Thoughts on my head, burdens to share
People questioning if God's really there if God really cares
So much suffering and despair
People dying everyday-everywhere
And this heaviness I feel is like a weight that I wear
Last year my mom died and I'm missing her now
Wish that I could be with her hugging and kissing her now

No sunshine in life all that's left is the rain
But there's hope on the horizon and I'm seeing it now
Because Christ died to free us and we're needing him now

Some people are afraid their way of life's gonna end
While others are wondering when a better life will begin
But status won't change the sin that's within
And all the destruction that it causes us again and again
We need an intervention from a God who can mend
All the brokenness of life and all the mess that it's in
Life is hard and life is short and we have one life to live
People hurting, death is certain, Christ has life he can give
Life as intended and it will continue to be
Light to pierce our dark existence, life eternally free
From all the suffering we feel and we see
A new life in Jesus Christ for everyone who believes
