Hunter Gorgas - chapter 4: it's not about me

It's not about me
But so often I think it is
When I go to the beach
I see just how big this world truly is and I'm reminded that it's not about me
I've heard it said before that God knows just how many grains of sand there are on the shore
And if that's really true
Then I'm the worst for thinking that I matter more than anyone else in the world
Because if God knows how many grains of sand there are
Then he definitely knows how many people are on this earth
And if he knows those tiny, little details within an infinite universe
How much more does he care about what's going on in our tiny, seemingly unimportant lives
I just don't get it
There are too many details that line up for us to not consider every other grain of sand on the shore
AKA every other person in the world
This world's just too big to think it's all about us
This world's too big to think it's all about me
It's not about me
