Electric Blue Waves - God and Country
God & Country
My brother wrote this letter
The day before he went to war
Blood stains and mud cover his signature
He passed it down the firing line
Then he closed his eyes for one last time
A farewell message to all, a prayer for courage
A flash of light, fade into the night
For God & Country
Battles are fought
On mountains cold and burning sands
The mission oiled and taut
We share the bounty
With enemy and friend
And hold the line, soldiers to the end
For God & Country
Silver wings across the sky
Heavy metal crash the ocean waves
Boots on the ground, lives saved
Politicians rise and fall
As words collide in hallowed halls
Splitting post and rail, wind and sail
Freedom sounds, walls crashing down
For God and country
Battles are fought
On rivers low and thermal high
On fields of green and gold
We share the bounty
With enemies and friends
We hold the line, soldiers till the end
For God and Country
How long, will fires burn and war winds blow
How long, will we struggle against the tide
How long, till we lay our weapons down and live in peace
For God & Country
Some of them pray to Jesus
And some bow down toward the Holy Land
Some go to Temple to praise The One
We love our freedom
And we love our home in America
From the Gulf of Mexico, north to Canada
Across the Great Divide, brothers side by side
For God and country
Battles are fought
For all that we believe in
Some paid a mighty cost
We share our bounty
With enemies and friends
We hold the line, soldiers till the end
For God and Country
