A Strong Straw Back - Take a Second

Words soar sour from my tongue
The young man in me cares too much for the battles won
Sun does set on enlightenment I've learned
Morph into a demon when my ego is disturbed
Upset is my intellect when cast aside by pride
My heart does state that I am wrong, to admit I'd rather die
Fly off my handle when I know I should just breathe
Become the one of me who listens and loves with ease

Easily I seem to read that that I could become pure
Access my highest self, have happiness endure
Turns out the actions are much harder than the words
Turbulent becomes my temper at the slightest of angers
I know which actions I should choose still mistakes remain the same
To err is to be human, someday this fact I hope to tame
Become responsible is all that I can do
Quickly gift forgiveness, yes that is important too
Through twists and turns you learn the path is to practice what is true
What is true
Living in truth, Living in truth
Truth
