Antwon Vinnie - The Becoming

Open my eyes after what seems like forever
Take some time to adjust to the light I've seen never
This land it's a mystical land
Practically innovated by the likes of my two hands

I don't recognize this place
I must be in the wrong house, now I must make haste
My jaw drops as I realize that it's 2020
And I'm three-thousand miles from home and only now have I began to see

I collapse and grit my teeth in a sudden disbelief
As the memories of what once was begin to fly by me
So I run to a mirror to see who I've become
I look and realize that I'm looking right at my son

But see he doesn't exist because he's all in my head
Or I'm my father looking at a reflection of his son not born yet
The scary part is I don't like what I see
What I've become feels like one thousand demons have tormented me

Everybody reaches that phase
Where they realize
That life's a maze
And I'm amazed if they could see me now
I've got my life
I'm still so young
So I can wait to see who I've become

What's done is done, never to be undone
Everything I've been through has hopefully made me a better son in the eyes of my parents
I know they're proud of me
See it took a year to create this and I know that they will see

What I've created isn't a series of me singing lyrics
That I've created a story written by my inner spirit
And co-written by the evil voice within
But he's dead now all because I never gave in

After my move here my loneliness and depression my growingness
Highschool blues and the bullies countless rejections me motionless
Graduation I'm over this then regret and more loneliness
More depression depression uncertainty and unknowingness

Of my purpose all these questions to a point were unanswered
Until I started creating this album the music became my master
And I still cannot fathom that it has been five years
I turn around look at the old me as he begins to disappear

Everybody reaches that phase
Where they realize
That life's a maze
And I'm amazed if they could see me now
I've got my life
I'm still so young
So I can wait to see who I've become
