Olly Murs first found fame on the UK talent show The X Factor in 2009. Signing to Epic Records in the UK and Columbia Records in the US shortly after finishing as runner up of the television series, he released his debut single Please Don’t Let Me Go in 2010, which debuted at number one in the UK Singles Chart.

This was the first single off debut album Olly Murs which was released later that year. Debuting on the UK Albums Chart at number one, and selling over 148,000 copies in its first week, the collection of songs was eventually certified as Platinum for shipments of over 300,000 copies in the UK. The exposure of Murs’ music began to grow, with the release finding its way onto the Irish Albums Chart also. The second single Thinking of Me was also met with success.

With his momentum continuing, the singer released his second album In Case You Didn’t Know in late 2011. The album peaked at number one in the UK Album Charts, two on the Irish Charts and reached Europe’s music charts also, finding its way onto the top 10 in Germany, Poland and Switzerland. The first single to be released from the album was Heart Skips a Beat, which became his second UK number one. Second single Dance With Me Tonight was met with the same success, much to Murs' delight.

The debut single from his third album, Right Place Right Time, saw him team up with Flo Rida. Troublemaker was released in 2012 and served as Murs’ second single to be released in the US, peaking at number one in the UK and number 34 on the US Billboard Hot 100 Chart.

Never Been Better was the title of Murs' fourth studio album released in 2014. the number one album features second single Up, on which Murs collaborated with Demi Lovato. Murs also released a Christmas EP exclusively on Google Play in December 2014.

In addition to his music career and embarking upon a 2013 arena tour, Murs was a presenter on the side show of the UK talent series on which he found his fame, The Xtra Factor. He appeared on two series of the popular show alongside Caroline Flack before quitting to concentrate on his music career.
