Pi Lyrics and Profile

Pitbull, real name Armando Christian Pérez, released his debut album back in 2004 through TVT Records. The project, titled M.I.A.M.I’, peaked at number 14 on the US Billboard 200 Chart and spring boarded the performer to mainstream recognition. This gave rise to two albums which were released in quick succession of one another; El Mariel (2006) and The Boatlift (2007). Both gave rise to a collection of singles which enjoyed success in the US Singles charts, as the Latin feel to Pitbull’s music has set him apart from many current rappers.

It was his fourth album that would give Pitbull the international exposure he wanted, however, as it gave rise to the single I Know You Want Me (Calle Ocho). Instantly a global hit, the dance track was played in clubs all over the world. Having hit the mainstream airwaves in 2009, by 2011 the single had sold 2.6 million digital copies in the US and been certified Gold and Platinum in countries all over the globe. Following the success of the album and single, the rapper embraced his Spanish roots and released his full-length debut Spanish-language album titled Armando in 2010. The exposure of his diverse music has led to Pitbull being recognised as one of the most nominated artists of the Billboard Latin Music Awards.

By the time 2012 arrived, Pitbull was ready to give music fans his seventh studio album. Global Warming showed no signs of Pitbull’s talent weakening, or his popularity decreasing, with the collection of songs debuting at number 14 on the US Billboard 200 Chart. One notable single on the album featured pop-sensation Christina Aguilera and was given the name Feel This Moment. Embracing the dance vibe Pitbull is renowned for, this single dabbled in the electronic genre and utilised Aguilera’s powerful vocals to make it a hit. Peaking at number three in the iTunes chart and 18 on the US Billboard Hot 100, the sales of the track continued to grow.

2014 saw the release of Pitbull's eighth album, Globalization. One of the more notable tracks on the album is second single, We Are One (Ole Ola), which features Jennifer Lopez and Brazilian recording artist Claudia Leitte. It was selected as the official 2014 FIFA World Cup song, and the trio performed it at the tournament's opening ceremony.
