Swedish House Mafia was a three-piece dance music band that mastered the art of electronic music. Officially forming back in 2008, the trio had a fall-out with record label EMI due to differing musical ideas and eventually signed a record deal with UGM’s Polydor Records in 2010.
Working with their new record label, the group of DJs released their first official single; titled One (Your Name), which achieved international success by debuting at number seven on the UK Singles Chart. The group chose to remix this single and featured American rapper Pharrell Williams to give the track an edge - a move that paid off as the collaboration was well received by both music critics and fans. Keeping with the theme of collaborations for their next single, Miami 2 Ibiza and working alongside Tinie Tempah saw an improvement in chart position from their debut single, reaching number four in the UK Singles Chart.
2011 was a big year for the band, with Save The World featuring vocals by John Martin charting at number 10 in the UK Singles Chart and establishing their position as electronic music masters. 2012 was an equally successful year for Swedish House Mafia, as they teamed up once more with John Martin for Don’t You Worry Child.
The middle of 2012, however, also saw the beginning of the end for the band, with it being announced that the final leg of their 2012 to 2013 tour would be the last. Appropriately named One Last Tour, the band’s second compilation album titled Until Now formed the official soundtrack to the tour.
