Paranotes - Old Man's Story

A man sits at the table
Staring into his beer for a long time
He sits all day from dusk till dawn
In the pub across the road
There are so many thoughts
So many pictures
Being spinning through his head
He has seen many countries
And even more people
His former life on the road

At the time I was in school
Where I had a friend
We jammed around from day to night
He on the drums and
Me on the guitar
It was love at first sight
We played Offspring, Adams, Purple and Roses
AC/DC, CCR and Ugly Fish Blow
But when school was over
He quit the band
He had to work
Ah, you don't say so

You can get everything
If you want it
Believe in yourself
Don't give up
No matter what the others want
Believe me they're all just dumb
Hold on to your weirdest dreams

So I was alone again
I had no one to jam
I searched around
In our little town
But no one who wanted me
I was only 18
They said I turned completely
To be upside down
I practiced for weeks and weeks
Went to another town
And look there
Everything could be found
