Grip Less Jrama - Flower from the Underside

You
Perplex me like a flower that grows upside down
The flower's will to grow never ceases, even when the flower believes it cannot grow
Such is nature; such is life
Things change, even when the thing that changed is the tune that we both once whistled
The tune we both once knew
The tune I find myself whistling alone sometimes still

I wish I could reach out in the dark and find your hand waiting for
Me
Just to be pulled into your web of satin sheets and dark thoughts
My mind wanders upon you, the clouds know
They see through my gaze and tell the stars that they saw
Me
As the world moved from dawn to dusk

I wish I could caress your cheek
A motion so sweet and simple that even god himself could bend a
Knee
In solidarity with our truth, the simplistic nature of love
I wish I could kiss your wounds, and watch them scar over and heal
So that we could focus on our future and not our pasts
Together and feel close
I wish I could see you smile, and smile with you
Because at last, we're at ease
Not because it's easy
Not because it's polite
But because we need to see eye to eye
I need to see you tonight - I mean

I needed to

I wish I could lift the veil
That prevents the writer from the reader
Illuminating my reality so that you could see the nature of my arrogance, my stubbornness, my flaws
I wish you could see past the empty windows into the dusty cathedral that was our stable
Even though it was never stable
I wish my soul still shined through my
Pupils
For the world to see
I wish it were warmer out, so we could run barefoot through the trees
Like children, hopeless and hoping

I don't know

I wish I knew you as a child
I wish I had more memories with you, of you, it's true, conclude
That I wish I could put my hand out in the dark, and know you'd grab it
Even tho my hand is out in the dark

It was

Even tho I feel nothing grip back

Being the flower that grows upside down is tiring
I long to see the world normally
Sometimes I wish that my gardener had flipped me right side up, but yet I hang
It's what makes me different
It's what makes me see the world for what it is and not what it could be

And I'll continue to grow
I just wish we had rooted and tangled together more in this upside down world

But I hang
The flower from the underside
The flower from the underside
