Tim Higgins - White Youth

I've been trying to keep to my harbor
And out of the waves
I've been trying to keep to my harbor
And out of the waves
It's time to be honest
And face the truth
Nine people are dead
Because of a white youth
He didn't act alone
And there's some logic in it
Dogs cross the road
And rarely get hit
Some breast milk is vile
Some sperm shouldn't shoot
You say, "It's not our fault!"
But there's a problem underfoot
It's found in the chat rooms
It's found in the homes
It buys up the guns
It picks at the bones
It rattles the cages
It kills the bird
It riles the ego
It likes to be heard
So, what can we do
When laws circumvent
The death of a nation?
Destroyers hellbent:
Who vote at the polls
Who elect pervert trolls
Who sit at the table
Who fill all the roles
I've been trying to keep to my harbor
And out of the waves
But the ocean is rising
The ground, and the graves
