Lifestory: Monologue - Between the Rocks and the Clouds
The height is so enticing, and it's so hard to resist
The view is so revealing and it's so hard to exist
Up where the currents are gentle softly soothing every move you make
Up where the warmth will not decieve, it's quiet kindess calming each mistake
Up where the currents whisper, just loud enough to can't hear your wings break
Up where the clouds won't hold, and you'll fall before you even begin to wake
Here between the rocks and the clouds
The air is dense with the scent of pride
Walking tall and convince he said "hold my head high, oh foolish pride of mine!"
Make it so the rocks won't score my heels
And the clouds will not find their rest upon my square but brittle shoulders
And when my crooked smile breaks the mist
Let the sun reveal everything that I lack
Here I am falling hollow, no substance in my frame
When did we stop singing our lives into peace
And begin to place the beauty where it fits?
Aren't all our lives beautiful
Aren't all our lives unique?
