Nolen & Friends - Whiny Millennial Blues

Well you know I'm just a millennial
Too young to know too much
But 27 years inside this system is plenty of time to see it sucks
Educated by a long and ethnocentric series of tests
That aim to each white kids to blindly scream their country is the best

They said we came for free religion, I guess technically thats true
But they used slaves to drop the cancer sticks that paid to drop the nukes
These days money's just a number and it floats above your head
You're happy to crawl toward the black and kick the future back toward red

So there should be no chorus or repetitive refrain
Because relying on tradition nothing ever seems to change
I don't know much but I know this, most broken systems don't self fix
You can't work alone to save a species

Some people run the news and they preach their propaganda every day
When the piper comes 'round to collect they laugh and never pay
Given the state of modern medicine the rich may never die
Go cash those last social security checks, and then we'll have our try

You can blame our generation's participation trophies all day long
Call me a precious little snowflake in the comments under this song
But you know what? When this grand old ship goes down it won't just drown some of us
And you can't work alone to save a species

Well you can't work alone
No you can't work alone
You can't work alone to save a species
Oooh ooh I've got those Whiny Millennial Blues
Oooh ooh I've got those Whiny Millennial Blues
Oooh ooooh ooh
