Gavin Caine - A Garden

There is a garden where
The days grow long but
They never stray from
The weeds in the lawn and
The flowers all bloom but
The colors are wrong and
The bluejay is singing the sparrow's song

The sun always sets when
The morning begins so
Bulbs light the rows with
No radiation and
The grass feels like blades and
The dirt's made of tin and
The fence is held up by
A thin metal pin

Storms often brew over
The garden walls where the
Wind rips all through
The marigold halls and
The clouds will roll in but
The rain doesn't fall and
The lightning will flash but
The thunder won't call

In this garden, I stand and
I drift on by with
My eyes on the ground and
My head in the sky
My hour hand's broke yet
The minute hand flies and
The second hand idly resides behind
