Jamie Palm - Starter Kit

They ask me what it takes to do this
So I wrote a little, a little something
To just tell you, This is my life

I closed my eyes and listened to God
It has been a while since we have talked
I have been so far gone, out of the church
But I blamed it on work, I got all these bills to pay
So the nine-to-five always comes first
I barely have time for the music
It seems like someone I am just keeping alive
On life-support just to keep them from dying
I know it sounds selfish, but I cannot say goodbye
I have tried numerous times to kick the habit
Started smoking cigarettes, worst mistake I ever made
Superficial stimuli could never fill the void in me
Even tried smoking weed, and by the age of seventeen
I even done a line and then I got that energy
And then I met Joey and he started making me some beats
Enlightenment at such a young age has been a gift to me
I can see your true colors there is no hiding it
Describing it's impossible so I bring you inside of it
My story that I have written just for you to get inspired with
Only twenty six and you have only seen a side of it
I told my dreams to God and now it's time for him to answer it
Ambition inside of my veins and that's a rappers starter kit
