Guilt in Bloom - Listen

I'll take this time
To write this out
I have no doubt
I can go without
Existing in this way
Depression fades
The lines on my face
Dark thoughts intrude
I have no intention
Of seeing this through
I hope this means
Something to you
And at this letters close
My final prose
My love enclosed
"Do you have it planned out?"
"Are you going to hurt yourself?"
I've had this plan for 5 years
I'll put a gun into my mouth
When he finds him, he won't recognize
The son he claimed to care for
He won't realize
This could have been prevented
It never really had to
End with suicide
If someone had just fucking listened
But maybe it was him
Was he not listening
A boy who did not understand he was stuck in a prison
Of thoughts that were not his
Who did they belong to
It's this evil apparition living deep inside him
Always making its presence known
Tearing at him but nothing shows
He wears a mask to save face
Thinking he'll leave this world and not leave a trace
It always ends the same
Each time the story is told
"Did you think he was capable of this?"
And we just say the same thing
We didn't listen
