As I sit on the patio
Writing these words
I feel as though I've seen this scene before

There's been cars that drive past
And planes in the sky
That have already forgotten last night

The streetlights and signs
Glow oh so bright
As the moon lights up the world

And while I stare at the pond
And watch the sun go down
I can't help but think it's funny

That my senses and feelings
Aren't what everyone's keeping
Inside of their brain and their mind

I need this time to myself
For nobody else
Can give me the calmness I need

And to think the world goes on
Is such a scary thought
And all the while I feel so lonely

I need someone to hold
And I wish I were told
That finding love would be so hard

But when I look at the moonlight
And I rest in my chair
I relax and I think
What a night
