That's Tough - Grim Reaper

The grim reaper has the hardest job in the world
It's thankless like a mother but all he gets to watch is the unfurling
Of a life at the end of its time
He gets to hold their hands and calm their mind right to the end of the line
The grim reaper was ahead of his time
He was a leader we could follow back in 1939
When the world was going to shit
It was the silent but nonviolent grim that grinned for the kids
We could all benefit by taking notes from him
In his book right next to pictures of the seven deadly sins
He doesn't judge no he accompanies you and I
Through the scariest places that'll burn images in your mind
Repent and he'll be your friend
He'll bypass hell and purgatory
Just to let you cut the line to heaven
I wish you could let go of the fear
For there's nothing to fear here not death when it's the only thing that's real
I suggest getting to know the grim reaper
He's the taker of pain so before he goes let it be your teacher
The grim reaper is gentle soul
All he ever wanted was a hand to hold
The least we can give him is a smile to remember
It gets cold as hell in hell in September
Repent and he'll be your friend
He'll bypass hell and purgatory
Just to let you cut the line to heaven
