Of Sinners + Saints - Pennsylvania

I don't know that I ever once met a rich man
Who was richer than I've been for all of my days
Because the riches that they long to hold
Are just not rich enough to save their souls
And I know that wealthiness comes and then withers away
I don't think that I'll ever be happy
At least, not in the way that everyone wants me to be
Because everything has become such a mess
And I just can't accept it for anything less
I digress, and can only confess that I long to be free
I long to lose all my breath as I move up the mountain
And I try to hold on to youth with every passing fountain
And I hold on to hope as I hold on to you
As we walk along rivers neither of us knew
And I pray that we never do stray far from Pennsylvania
I don't know if I'll ever have any answers
To the questions that keep my eyes always searching above
Because I don't know what I did to deserve
Life in all that I've seen and in all that I've heard
It's absurd to think that the word is anything but love
I long to lose all my breath as I move up the mountain
And I try to hold on to youth with every passing fountain
And I hold on to hope as I hold on to you
As we walk along rivers neither of us knew
And I pray that we never do stray far from Pennsylvania
And when all that is left of me turns into dust
I don't know where we'll be, but there will always be us
And we'll stay a lifetime away here in Pennsylvania
And I pray that we never do stray far from Pennsylvania
