Rob Coonrod - Frog or a Fish

Don't look to me for answers
You've got to listen for yourself
You've got to know that there is something else
Frenzy in the classroom
Silence spells respect
There must be diversity in the grades you collect

Why must I fail when I just set sail
I will tell a true tale to myself when I was young
We will start to see when we slip on the ice and we bleed our story
But you know that when we're dry
We'll be light enough to fly

What kind of animal are you
Are you a frog or a fish
Do you reside in a cage or in a crystal petri dish
I can almost see you
You're pulling your own tail
You've got to use it to steer while you sail

Why must I try if all I'm gonna do is die
I'm writing songs to sing to myself when I was young
We will be on the verge of so called insanity
And we will finally see all the things we were meant to see

So floating on open water
I get sunburnt on my back
I've got my sunglasses but I had no clothes to pack
How can I keep my cool
I'm burning up all the time
I've got to dive into the ocean to get some peace of mind
Peace of mind
Peace of mind

There is no failure but the failure to try
And we will meet again when we are free to fly
But until then slipping on the ice again
Be your own friend and help yourself up again
You can see your reflection when you look through the end
