The artist regards the track as the aftermath of a love that was intoxicating and difficult to forget. Sources have described the song as the impact of a partner in her life. In fact, in the lyrics, she confesses:

“Lost a little weight because I wasn’t eating.”

Her vocals are absolutely impressive in this piano ballad and create a deeply personal, tear-jerking experience. The song video that was released yesterday is an alluring portrayal of the highs and lows of love.

When asked about the song on the Zach Sang show, Cabello said: "I love how in that song there’s no regret in it [loving deeply]. It’s kinda acknowledging, yeah I’m dealing with the aftermath but it’s not like I should’ve never… This was so intense and crazy and now it sucks but it was still worth it.”
