Simon Servida - Basement

Moving with intention, moving through dimensions
Another day on the couch, that's a living room adventure
Another day in the basement, fueling up the engine
Take the wheel, zoom, moving to a new direction
Tensions high, when I am tested by
The hands of fate, mixed with the test of time
And these hands might break without a change of pace
We are so dam grateful but never satisfied
Now this one dark corner where I make my beats
Are in the same 4 walls within where I sleep
And these same 4 walls are hitting mentally
Life is way too much of rinse and repeat, it's getting to me
It's hard to uphold, I'm scared to plateau
The passion is high, but the spirit is low
I really don't know what the future has in store
Keep my head down, see how the cards will unfold
While everybody racing, chasing placements
Im here building a foundation, strong as pavement
And to everybody hating, stay complacent
And watch me cop a couple plaques in my mommas basement
Watch it rain down awards and accolades
Sustained I'm not a passing phase
Watch it captivate the fans as they all stand in spades
But we'll save that for a latter day
Let's just focus on the task today
Focus on the concrete, the asphalt, the bedrock
The basement that started with a piano and a desktop
The memories of melodies that always made my head bop
Along with ther grooves that were tighter than a headlock
The feeling will never change, so the passion will never drown
From headphones in friends ears, to headlines with bigger crowds
But at the moment the basement calls to me now
Cause no one ever stuck oil while they was up in the clouds
