So I can catch up on the news while I'm on the treadmill
And when it's time to go to sleep, that's the perfect time indeed
To scroll a little more, make sure I read the whole feed
And that I didn't miss a thing, so when I finally close my eyes

Every single day it's a never ending task list
Each item that I cross off, I add a few more
It's a constant struggle, always trying to do more
So I always multi-task and never even notice
No task ever gets my undivided focus
It's like, how many apps can I run all at once?
And I'm always plugged in, even when I'm eatin' lunch
Face stuck to a screen, especially when I'm alone
When I go to the bathroom even take my Smartphone
So I can catch up on messages at the same time
No time to unplug, gotta stay on the grind

Nose to the grindstone, that's how I build my credentials
And it doesn't matter if it starts to take a toll
If I work hard enough I can retire when I'm old
