June 10 2009 marks the dayI can pen about the time my heart was stole away
Held you in my arms looked you in your tiny face
We locked eyes as I covered you with a warm embrace
It's a blessing just to be in your presence
As I handle you with care teaching you life's lessons
My precious jewel you're my life line my first born you came in my life at the right time adding purpose to this life of mine
Help you glow as I watch you shine
Sit back and smile as I watch you conquer life's many miles
I give you wings to fly teach you life above the ground
The ups and downs teach you how to swim so you'll never drown
How to stand during hard times
Show you how to fight those times a million times
And if the road ahead seems to ruff for you to drive
Press forward I got your back baby ride or die

Fatherhood is the best experience Ive had
Always by your side whenever times get bad

They say distance makes the heart grow fonder
But the distance between us is like an unfed hunger
At night I watch videos and old photos just to witness how much you've grown
It's like a prison sentence and all we get is these visits
Talking to you through this glass talking over the phone
Then we say our goodbyes and I'm back to feeling alone
Back to shedding these tears as I script the lines in this poem
Pray the ancestors keep you strong
Keep you away from harm grant you insight and intuition
Discernment so you can see pass the mask and false image
The gift to manifest all your thoughts dreams and visions
So dream big and plot out your journey for all eternity so everything you're wishing can be brought into fruition
Then life will transition you into a higher positions
The type of shifting have people thinking you're a magician
Once you unlock the power that resides deep in your spirit
