Bee Appleseed - That Time I Met Elon Musk When I Was Homeless

The most ironic moment of my life
Has got to be
When I was standing on the street
In Highland Park, Los Angeles
And Elon fucking Musk walks out
I yelled his name just to make sure
Must have been 2017
Then he turned over, shook my hand
And I couldn't believe it
Because at the time I was homeless
And he was a billionaire
One of the richest people in the world
And if you were to average our collective wealth
You'd have a prolific artist who lives in his car
And a billionaire car-maker
And of course every existential thought
Swirled through my mind in this moment
As it would for anyone with a sense of awareness
Some people blurt out their elevator pitches at the opportunity
Or ask for shit jokingly or serious
Or maybe like half jokingly, but if you're into it, you know
But even though I was homeless
I still had my dignity
And I wasn't interested in being a beggar
Instead all I could say back
Was "have a good night"
And I shit you not
He then walked to the end of the block
With his two buddies
Got in his fancy Tesla
And drove back to Mars

And another thing
When you have that much money
It's like, who can you trust?
I just don't see how the system
Is really working out for anyone

And hey, do you remember
That time you tried to overthrow a foreign government?
