Overtime - I Was a Dreamer

I was a dreamer.
I was a dreamer hey aye.
I was a dreamer.
I was a dreamer hey aye whoa whoa

I Remember dreaming and writing, and listening to Shady.
Thinking maybe I could make it, they would wanna pay me.
It was all about the money at first until I opened up my eyes and I saw a bigger purpose.
Now I'm bigger then I ever thought, banging on the fucking wall, trying to make my way inside the game and start a fucking brawl.
I knew that waiting around would get me none at all, so I loaded up my bags and hit the road.
Traveled round the country shaking hands, autographs, meeting fans, changing lives, photographs with my band.
It's incredible, what you can do once you put your mind to it, quit thinking about the negative and put your grind to it.
There ain't no substitution, for really truly do it, exactly what you set out for when you began pursuing, so put your pedal to the metal make some goals and never settle.
Pick yourself up off the ground and reach a higher level.

I don't break, I don't fall, I don't back against the wall.
My mistakes as I recall are my own strengths as I stand tall.
Because I was a dreamer.
I was a dreamer hey aye.
I was a dreamer.
I was a dreamer hey aye whoa whoa

I've reached my destination, I'm in my own zone.
I've worked hard and now I'm reaping what I've sewn.
While the competition parties I'm up in here doing work, setting standards in my circle so we're all seeing the perks.
It's a beautiful picture isn't it, pictures say a million words.
I'm living memories, memories that I seen it heard.
But it wasn't always roses and bills that were fully paid, I used to live in the trailer, the rent was always late.
There was no foundation, there was no future promise, ramen noodles and ketchup yo I'm just being honest.
I didn't have shit but drive and a bunch of passion.
But I didn't make no dam excuses I just made it happen.
It's part of being a man you gotta sacrifice, I play it back twice just to hear my own advice.
And as I listen man I'm seriously tripping, cause I ain't supposed to make it but here I am.
Let's live it up.

I don't break, I don't fall, I don't back against the wall.
My mistakes as I recall are my own strengths as I stand tall.
Because I was a dreamer.
I was a dreamer hey aye.
I was a dreamer.
I was a dreamer hey aye.
I don't break, I don't fall, I don't back against the wall.
My mistakes as I recall are my own strengths as I stand tall.
Because I was a dreamer.
I was a dreamer hey aye.
I was a dreamer.
I was a dreamer hey aye whoa whoa
I don't break, I don't fall, I don't back against the wall.
My mistakes as I recall are my own strengths as I stand tall
