Jinan - Inner Peace

Thank you for turning me down a hundred times
It had to happen so I could see my crimes
All I really needed back then was the money
You're still doing that now I find it funny
Bar manager looking through his kaleidoscope
"I like you kid but no got no hope"
Guess the honesty made me strive for the impossible
Couldn't sing but I could feel it in my abdominal
Sitting here all day staring at the lemon tree
Hoping outta all this comes some poetry
Drawing happy faces on the fogged up glass
Hoping I don't see you're face again
I'd give it to the grass
Now that I've found a little inner peace
Stopped wanting to put your head on concrete
Day dreams keeping me outta arms reach
Nice to lay in bed and get a good night
Sleep

Staring at the lemon tree
Staring at the lemon tree
Staring at the lemon tree
Staring at the lemon tree
