Master Christopher - Institutions

These institutions won't mind to call you a defect
But ain't no red lines I come auto correct
The system is built just to keep us in check
The rich getting richer while the poor feel neglect
But what did you expect
Take some time to reflect
Redirect and inspect
Why their knee's on our necks
It all interconnects
But you must keep your respect
Cause despite the reject
It's our time to collect
From the institutions with no solution
To give back restitutions
At least redistributions or resolutions
Instead
We left with prosecutions of thirty-three percent
Of male youths
That's persecution it makes no sense
Forty-four percent, no ownership of our homes so rent
Keeps going up and we pouring up
Because stress is tense
Then commence the suspense
Of finding cents
Anyway just to pay
The Institution's expense
Our median wage is under thirty K
Their median wage I do not dare to say
We're overly present in jobs that do not pay
We're not represented in roles with the say
But I pray for the day for a way to convey
How our history's story is more than just dismay
In our people there's glory no man can take away
Nor the sins of their fathers will they ever outweigh
The heart of gold
Found in the souls
Of those who rose
So you can go
Grow to your goals
Down deep you fight
Keep your head high
Steep in the sky
See you are better than the lie
There is hope if we change
The little people's mind
A way to rearrange
So they can look with pride
Towards trust in the unity
Only God provides
But it takes looking back
Change the way that we act
Deconstruct our pride
Maybe we can pick up the seeds
Sown by the deeds that created these
Inequities that deny us a seat
We can achieve our fathers one plea
If you believe in MLK's words and dreams then you can agree
"No justice, no peace"
