Cait Arq - It's Funny

There's a vibrant floral square
Up on the parlor wall there
Where your smile once contently hung
From your young face
Amidst the first and all the dust
That Father Time done raised up
That now reside all residentially
In that duller space
You know, it's funny
Before I took the frame down
I don't recall your cheery gaze
Wanderin' or followin' me 'round
But, now, it's creepy
Because the longer I stare
Somebody must've burned your eyes
Into the paper, I swear
I swear
There's a tear stain, tea stain
And a few cents of loose change
On the sofa where I'd hold ya
Through the eye of your storm
Beside the fire, below the mantle
And your face floral form
It's hard to fathom that these flames
Once ever kept your feet warm
You know, it's funny
I got so used to your touch
When you were here and pulled me near
It wouldn't phase me that much
But, now, it's creepy
As I'm alone on the couch
I feel somebody leanin' on me
It's you body, no doubt
No doubt
I tossed the couch and tore the paper down
The parlor is new
Rolled on a deep shade of blue
Made sure to paint over you
Now steppin' back, although it's hard to see
Your face anymore
Swear I can hear the eerie creek
Of your cold feet on the floor
You know, it's funny
I thought the hauntin' was done
But now I see that our love house
And our love coffin are one
It's just too creepy
Which no decor can prevail
There's only one thing I can do
I put the house up for sale
Up for sale
