Gavin Caine - Jenny's Library

The grand window in the back now
Shows the light is getting low
The man behind the desk shouts
Out that it's time to go and
Jenny moves in closer on her
Stack of books towering high
Sifting through several titles
Jenny happily spends her time
Something like "Catcher in the Rye"
Is what she hopes to find
The man shouts again saying there's
No more time they're closing up
Jenny quickly grabs her books and
Starts to hurry out the aisle
Running towards the checkout desk and
Dumping out her novel pile and
As she gives the man her card she
Notices a boy sat in the back
Under the window he sits
Reading about bananafish
His long hair covers his eyes but
Leaves where his smile fits and
As the boy flips the page
Jenny's heart begins to race
The man behind the desk says
"Here you go" and hands her a bag
Jenny grabs the handle
But her mind seems to lag and
As she exits out the door
Jenny thinks about the boy she saw
