Jay Ramsey - Jubilee

When I was a boy
With wild imagination
I created worlds with cities and with nations
To my liking
And everyone was happy as could be

I dreamed of a town
And I called it Jubilee
Where no one wore a frown
And not one man was on his knees
Except to pray
In Jubilee things were just that way

But it was just a dream
And I'm old enough to know it
But I'm trapped in the world of a very minor poet
And I'll always trying to find my way to Jubilee

Jubilee
Jubilee

My days in Jubilee
Were spinnin' making history
With verses and with rhymes
And lovely lilting melodies
For all to sing
And you were oh so very proud of me

But dreamers come of age
And bright dreams sort of fade away
To tones of gray and beige
And strains of mediocrity
But I can't see
Why I can't live my life in Jubilee

I love you girl
But I may never show it

'Cause I'm trapped in the world of a very minor poet
And I'll always be
Trying to find my way
To Jubilee
