Nate Hadley - Nate Hadley's 5th Fever Dream

I bought a small dog
But I think somethings wrong
He quacks like a duck and smells like a skunk
Took all my money
Hitched for miles
Got kicked out and stole my smile
I think he might be bad luck or something
Said his name was Willy
Then he stood up and he walked away
I thought that was strange

Well, I came home late last night
Sat at my plate and I was all alone
So I turned on the game then the news came on and told me that I should be afraid
Afraid of what I asked
So I waited and for three hours straight they found 100 new ways to say
Baloney
But never why or how, just when
So I turned off that radio station and headed into town
I had to see what all the fuss was about
When I showed up there were signs in the air
People yelling in one ear than the other
So I stood on the roof
Asked them what's going on
They said, didn't you hear
Our side won
It was my first time hearing about it
So I hopped in my ride and I bound for home
Said to myself politics is just not for me
I'd rather marry a girl with fat knees
While eating goat cheese
And talk to someone who only says please
Said a prayer for them though

The next morning I was out again
Ran into you wouldn't guess who
We had a little chat
About the width of the gap
He said it's really impossible to jump that
So I revved up my motorcycle
Must've been going about 200 miles
I hit a small rock and flew like a duck
Hit my head real bad and I wouldn't wake up
Then I heard a lady say she didn't like when The Beatles play
The Man woke up and walked away
He said I'm kinda, I think I'm having a bad day
