Psalm:187 - Natural Born Killahs

Another Public Safety Announcement
Just another no-good PSA
Another innocent child killed
When they out there tryin’ to play
Lord, I pray you’ll cover them
When them bullets that start to spray
Please protect our children
From that fully loaded AK
I can’t take another murder
Lord another D.O.A
I know it ain’t right Lord
It’s just so fucked up to say
That’s just how it is out here
Another fucked up day in LA
(Natural Born Killahs)
An early teen pregnancy
Doctors said mama should’ve terminated
Cuz of the black pigment of his skin, oh Lord
Should’ve probably never made it
He was tattooed in the womb
So, you knew one day he’d be hated
Thoughts of homicide and suicide
Often times were premeditated
Bottles of promethazine, Lean
Got another Black baby sedated
Hopeless, bloodshot eyes
Look at me, ghettoized and faded
We grew up between projects
State psychiatric wards
Metal detectors in the hallway
Tripwires running through the trapdoors
Blurry faces of those doctors
Just waiting there to cut the cords
Grimy curtains and the dark hallway
Broken tiles, urine-soaked floors
Tattooed bodies cuffed to prison beds
Left to decompose in the morgue
Flashbacks of me with folded hands
Laying in a casket, Lord
Is there any hope for me
Look at all the troubles I’m facing
Ain’t no job waitin’ for a felon after probation
I’m caught up in a crazy system
Of racial degradation
My soul keeps screaming out
I can hear those demons chasing
Back in fourth in my cell
I can still hear them pacing
Violent thoughts fill my mind
Deadly premeditation
Lord, take away the self-harm
And all the deep lacerations
They already say that I’m guilty
Regardless of the allegations
Hoods hammered by drug violence
Graffiti scrawled on the walls of doom
Cities plunging into darkness
Dark fog and heavy gloom
They see me as the enemy
They don’t even ask they assume
And the government is in on it
With the dark victims they groom
Severed umbilical cords oh Lord
Taken from thy mother’s womb
Black babies left to rot away
In some unknown shallow tomb
