Poetic Lace - Round and Round

1st Verse:
Dear God please teach me how to forgive,
I'm tired of feeling pain from the things that my daddy did,
He cheated on my momma choosing hustle over us,
And his death left no closure so I'm struggling with trust,
Jesus, I don't want to hate on this man,
I'm fighting the best I can, to take up the righteous stance,
I reached out to the family hoping that we're a family,
Blood is thicker than water but I don't think they can handle me,
Round and round the cycle must be broken,
One day I'm feeling good the next day I'm receiving tokens,
Messages and events reminding me of the past,
My anger is getting worse, my eyes are about to burst,
I'm tired of all the crying, I'm tired of dealing with liars,
I'm tired of feeling lost, I'm so tired of being tired,
Love will set me free if I put my flesh on the tree,
Otherwise I will be stuck in this cycle going round and round.
2nd Verse:
Who the Son sets free is free indeed,
But that don't give me freedom to hold onto bitter seeds,
That don't give me freedom to live like a malice weed,
If you keep poking wounds then in time they’ll bleed,
So I opened up my heart to take in love,
Starting conversations with the ones I thought would shove,
We’re talking about my daddy, I'm learning about his history,
I'm sharing my life story so they can catch up on knowing me,
God is good, God is amazing,
Thanks to Jesus Christ we're no longer in slavery,
So let go of the anger, the bitterness, and the malice,
Your soul is getting real ugly, the coldness is making calluses,
Half of this is knowing that you're forgiven,
Cause he who forgives much can truly forgive many,
So let me wrap this up children of Israel,
Your 11 days in the desert don't have to be 40 years round and round.
