Mia Buckley - Secondhand People

Drowning in a crowd of people
Never knowing why
Struggling to stay above ground
Look them in the eye
Weakness is for fools with big dreams
This is reality
Well maybe being "in" isn't all I really wanna be

And yeah I know I'm crazy
At least I'm still alive
Who knows about tomorrow
I really wanna fly

I may be strange but at least I'm complete
I may write poetry while wandering down the street
I might make stories in my head
I might see blue when you see red
I might think things are plain to see
At least I'm me

I know that I'm just one in the crowd
But so's everybody
And even somebodies were not always somebodies
Nobody's here to just stand there and be someone else
Secondhand people never know how to fix themselves

And yeah I know I'm crazy
At least I'm still alive
Who knows about tomorrow
I really wanna fly

I may be strange but at least I'm complete
I may write poetry while wandering down the street
I might make stories in my head
I might see blue when you see red
I might think things are plain to see
At least I'm me

I don't believe in changing your fate
Fate is something you can't escape
Instead you gotta go live it out
Unless you wanna drown in the crowd
Underground is easy but the
Sunlight makes the braver things grow
Sometimes I'm the dirt but I want
To be the flower
Rare things are the ones that are put in a museum
The four leaf clovers are the ones that bring good luck
They might look down on you from their pile of copies
Because you're the only one
But let me tell you that copies are discolored
Originals are always worth a little more
Don't be someone else
It never works anyway

I may be strange but at least I'm complete
I may write poetry while wandering down the street
I might make stories in my head
I might see blue when you see red
I might think things are plain to see
At least I'm
I may be strange but at least I'm complete
I may write poetry while wandering down the street
I might make stories in my head
I might see blue when you see red
I might think things are plain to see
But at least I'm me
