Alumni - Square (Intro)

The square
The foundation of a home, the essential piece to the outline of a plot
A frame to capture moments, a mat where battles can be fought
It’s edges are sharp with experience, yet in the path of a square
Everything still comes full circle
A square is a diamond, when put on its toes
And diamonds can only be scratched or cut by other diamonds
It is four roads, meeting on a grid
A circle, imploding, in four different directions, with enormous force
That didn’t break
It has been stretched and tested, and just like a circle
The flow never really stops
Sometimes, it just changes direction
Turning corners involves a certain amount of blind faith
Not knowing what’s to be seen around the bend
And if you can man through that razor’s edge, that corner
You’ll find that everything eventually straightens itself out
Until the next corner
You see, a square is just a circle of life with rough edges
And those rough edges hold the shape together
