Sullen sky
Broken bone
I expected only silence
When you picked up your phone
The silly town mascot
Lost his life last night
While all the football teammates drove their cars into the sky
And on that open field there you wept alone
And on that Thursday night suddenly your son was gone

We made you food

The hallways left between us felt vacant to no end
You drug your feet
