Ricky Espinoza - Wild Wild Wind

When papa was a young cowboy he learned to rope and learned to ride
He would saddle up his pony and go and he was going most his life
You see papa was a rolling stone he loved that sun on his skin
When papa was a young cowboy he rode fast as the wind

Mama little Indian girl painted her face bright orange and turquoise
Just like pretty wildflowers in the woods life was a canvas for her art
Mama always wore pigtails with a bandana around her head
Mama little Indian girl she was free as the wild wild wind

Papa had never fallen in love you couldn't tame his cowboy heart
And mama flew free as a dove but cast a light like a shooting star
For they never really knew what love was
Until they seen each other around the bend
Instantly they fell in love and built a little ranch on a plot of land

Now papa as a grown cowboy he still loved to roam them open plains
He would saddle up his pony and go
And you never knew when he was coming around again
You see papa he was free to roam he was the rambling type of man
Mama she didn't mind it at all she was so in love with him

Mama had a brave brave soul she was as wise as she was smart
She'd be chopping up the cherry wood she worked all night from dusk to dawn
Papa always rode alone he had to herd the cattle in
Mama grew the crops from home and took care of the dogs and the kids

One day papa found himself in a crunch he got bucked right from his steed
He broke two ribs and his back He could hardly walk he could barely breath
But papa had a helping hand when mama came to his side
Mama knew just what to do she had to learn to rope and ride

When all was lost true love remained

Many odd years would pass both of them gave it all their hearts
Papa found work with his hands tending the house with the boys on the farm
Now mama was a rolling stone she learned to herd the cattle in
Papa with his broken bones he would never ride again

One day papa knew something wasn't right he could just feel it down in his gut
Mama was nowhere in sight she didn't come when supper was called
So papa said "boys lets go" "something must be happening"
They found ol' mama laying there in the snow she got bucked off and hit her head

Mama looked papa in his eyes and said her time had come to go
Papa held her close til she died and he cried all not long
Mama had a heart of gold like the Apache Indian
Now papa buried her on a mound behind a tree upon their land

When all was lost true love remained
