Christina Aguilera

Christina Aguilera Lyrics and Profile

Christina Aguilera signed to RCA records at the age of 18 and instantly found success with her self-titled debut album in 1999, which gave rise to the smash hits Genie In A Bottle, What A Girl Wants and Come On Over Baby (All I Want Is You). While her third and fourth albums were chart successes, she was unhappy with her management and assumed creative control for her fourth album Stripped, released in 2002. This was a global phenomenon, as second single Beautiful propelled it into the top 10 on 16 music charts all over the world.

Aguilera embraced her love of jazz and blues music for fifth album, Back To Basics, which was released in 2006 and received warm feedback from music critics. Following a less-than-impressed reception from fans and music moguls for her following album, Bionic in 2010, Aguilera branched out and made her film debut in Burlesque. This enabled her to feature on the soundtrack for the album, which propelled interest in her music in the months that followed. However, this did not benefit the performance of her 2012 album Lotus, as sales were poor and reviews were mixed.

Whilst her seventh album did not serve well in the current music charts, her recent collaborations have. Moves Like Jagger’with Maroon 5 has become and global hit, peaking at number one across the globe and becoming the eighth best-selling single of all time in 2012. In addition to this, Aguilera’s collaboration with Pitbull - Feel This Moment - has also enjoyed success; peaking at number three in the US iTunes Chart.

As well as selling over 50 million albums worldwide and winning countless music awards, the singer also became the face of American talent show The Voice. Serving as a coach from 2011 to 2012 and returning again in 2013 and 2015, the talented performer enjoyed passing on valuable knowledge to her own group of acts.

The singer announced in 2014 that she was working on her eighth studio album, and in January 2015 revealed that she was working alongside The Voice co-star Pharrell Williams on the record.
