John Martin

John Martin Lyrics and Profile

John Martin Lindström was raised in the suburbs of Stockholm, Sweden and began his interest in music at the age of 13. Buying a guitar and forming his own band, it was at 15 that Martin began singing after the band’s lead vocalist quit right before a show they were due to play. Deciding he liked the frontman stature, he pursued this area and performed at many venues in his hometown.

It wasn’t until 2010, however, that the musician became noticed by none other than Swedish House Mafia member, Axwell. Descending upon the music studio, the trio and Martin co-wrote Save The World which reached number 10 in the UK Singles Chart and number one in the US Hot Dance Club Songs Chart.

His career of co-writing smash hits had only just begun, as the talented musician went on to collaborate with Avicii, giving rise to the single Fade Into Darkness. Whilst working with Michel Zitron on the Fade Into Darkness track, the duo bonded and became a co-writing force to be reckoned with. After the success of Fade Into Darkness, Swedish House Mafia once again enlisted the help of Martin for Don’t You Worry Child. Working alongside Zitron for the lyrical input, Martin earned a number one in the UK Singles Chart and a top five spot on the US Billboard Hot 100 Chart.

In 2013, the efforts put into Don’t You Worry Child and its global success were recognised and awarded by a Grammy Awards nomination for Best Dance Recording. Up for the prize against competition such as Calvin Harris and Ne-Yo, Skrillex, Avicii and Al Walser, the song lost out to Skrillex who won the highly acclaimed trophy.

Martin went it alone in 2014, releasing his debut solo single, Anywhere for You, shortly followed by his second, Love Louder in August of the same year.
