Keys Alicia Lyrics and Profile

Alicia Keys, real name Alicia Augello Cook, first found commercial fame upon releasing her debut album Songs In A Minor with J Records in 2001. Selling over 12 million copies worldwide, the album quickly became one of praise among music critics and fans. This propelled Keys into the limelight, which saw her acquire the achievements of Best Selling New Artist and Best Selling R&B Artist of 2001. The following year, Keys and her debut album were praised further, receiving five Grammy Awards.

The expectation placed on her second album was intense, but Keys delivered another global success. Titled The Diary Of Alicia Keys, 2003 saw the collection of songs sell eight million copies worldwide. Adding to her collection of Grammy Awards for debut album, this effort saw her gain another four in 2005. Keys released an Unplugged album on the back of her second album’s exposure, which went straight to number one in the US charts - making her the first female ever to have an MTV Unplugged album that debuted at number one and the highest position achieved by such a record since Nirvana in 1994.

Her collection of Grammy Awards grew further in 2007, as she received an additional three for third album As I Am. 2009 saw the talented songstress debut at number one in the UK Album Chart for fourth studio album The Element Of Freedom, an accomplishment that had not been achieved by Keys previously.

Keys released her fifth album in 2012, titled Girl On Fire, which went straight to number one on the US Billboard 200 Chart. The first single to be released from the album, also named Girl On Fire. Performing the song for the first time at the 2012 MTV Video Music Awards, alongside Nicki Minaj, the single received positive feedback and reviews.
