Pink Lyrics and Profile

Multi-award winning singer Pink was born Alicia Beth Moore in Pennsylvania in 1979. Growing up in Doylestown with a Jewish mother and Catholic father, she originally dreamed of becoming an Olympic gymnast. However her father’s musicianship inspired the young Pink to become a pop star. She took on the stage-name Pink aged 14 and began performing in clubs in Philadelphia. After singing in several bands during her teens, Pink’s solo career took off in 2000.

Signed to LaFace records, Pink released album ‘Can’t Take Me Home’ in April 2000 with lead single ‘There You Go’ reaching number seven in the US and number six in the UK. Pink leant her vocals to collaborative single ‘Lady Marmalade’ in 2001 for the soundtrack to the hit film, Moulin Rouge! The single topped the charts across the globe and earned Pink her first number one single.

Second album, ‘Missundaztood’ saw Pink become a hit solo artist in her own right, with singles ‘Get The Party Started’ and ‘Just Like a Pill’ rising high in the charts. Her 2006 album, ‘I’m Not Dead’ showcased Pink’s non-conformist attitude with singles ‘U+Ur Hand’ and ‘Stupid Girls’ taking the album to number five in the UK.

In 2006 the pop star married motor-cross racer Corey Hart, after she proposed to him during a race by holding up a ‘Will You Marry Me?’ board. The couple have a daughter together, Willow Sage Hart, who was born in 2011.

In 2012 she released her sixth album ‘The Truth About Love’, which features hit singles ‘Blow Me One Last Kiss’ and heartfelt ballad, ‘Try’, which reached the top ten across the world.

Pink, who lists Madonna and Janis Jopling has her influences, has won three Grammy Awards and two Brit Awards. Signed to cosmetics company ‘Covergirl’ in 2012, Pink is also recognized for her eclectic style and non-conformist attitude.
