Jack Kafer - Nostalgia

I still remember
Yu-Gi-Oh with breakfast
My friends were usually over
Stayed up way too late pretending
That we were Super Saiyan
And training on other planets
It seemed so far away but now
We're only left to manage
But what's left to manage
I still think back on the
Days when days still felt like they were longer
Shortens with age but stays the thing we long for
Some never changed but got older
Still some things I'm not over
Tried my best then made a mess
And it remains without closure
Test the weight on my shoulders
Stretch the pain across both
And let it settle with regret
While I maintain my composure
Insane how we cope with life
And strange 'cause I notice like
We basically know what's right
Then change what's supposed to be
Complaining how nobody likes
The things that you chose to be
Just hanging on hope that it's right
While dangling there hopelessly
That's why we day dream bout the simple times
The I can't let nobody see me with this pimple times
Back when Ian and I would skate the city streets and vandalize it
Never got the sponsorships or turned pro but we fantasized it
Now I got two boys of my own and it's only amplified it
Lessons learned at that time will return
Except they're magnified
As time keeps passing
My friends were usually over
Stayed up way too late pretending
That we were Super Saiyan
And training on other planets
It seemed so far away but now
We're only left to manage
But what's left to manage
I still remember
Yu-Gi-Oh with breakfast
My friends were usually over
Stayed up way too late pretending
That we were Super Saiyan
And training on other planets
It seemed so far away but now
We're only left to manage
But what's left to manage
