Hill Climber - A Lesson in Patience

You come to me for the purpose of consecration
Bearing gifts of two doves and a pair of pigeons
You knew not what these old ears had heard
You knew not of my tether to earth

Long have I gone to the bowl to bask
Each morning blessing the stairs that I passed
A man with a tank that won't run dry
Oh the patience of one who will not die

You descend from an ancient bloodline's path
You present me with the first and with the last
A cornerstone of humanity
The descendance of all divinity

Years have gone by and still my life extends
But every day inching closer to promised land
With this child I am now released
A servant now departs in peace

A sword too shall pierce your side
For what you've given is fall and rise
A sign that now shall he opposed
The thoughts of many hearts exposed

Though life have you given, so have you death
But not shall it linger, lasting only for a breath
As for me, you've given an end to my waiting
For you have completed my lesson in patience
